  • Sarah Drawwater

My name is Sarah Drawwater, I am a birth Doula, a Hypnobirthing Facilitator and creator of Birth Prep In A Box. I live in a little Fenland Cambridgeshire town with my family and our little grumpy dog. In my work as a Doula I strive to support my clients to find unbiased, evidence based information to support their decision making when planning for birth and their lives with a baby. This is never an easy task to undertake alone whilst also navigating our sometimes complex maternity systemc, and Google can be a very scary place when you’re expecting a baby! So in 2021 I created birth Prep In A Box as a way to share unapologetically simple antenatal education that could be accessible to all, not just my Doula clients. < Back The Nostalgic Doula Sarah Drawwater A little bit about me... Birth Prep In A Box is the ONLY truly fully comprehensive birth preparation course that evolves to the way the individual learns best, and the way the facilitator shares best too - It flexes to both learning/teaching styles and budgets too. I originally created this Birth Preparation and Hypnobirthing course for myself and my own Doula clients back in 2021. Having seen how much of a positive impact it had on my own client's experiences of birth I began to make the full materials available to as many people as possible. So Bi rth Prep In A Box became an online course with the printed version available to purchase from too (aka 'The cards), but we all know that one-2-one or in person learning is the gold standard here don't we?! Now here I am with a mission to make Hypnobirthing Facilitator training accessible to as many people as possible with a whole new approach, with the hope that these unbiased, evidence based birth preparation tools can find their way to as many families as they possibly can. Book now Mary-Jane Doula "Such a wonderful and thorough course. I learned so much and had really meaningful conversations with Sarah and the other participants. It was great to learn from other people in the birth world about what they do and embrace their knowledge. If you're considering becoming a hypnobirthing facilitator I can't recommend this course enough. It was very insightful and the ongoing community and support is incredible. I feel having the cards makes it so much easier to impart that information onto parents-to-be with consistency and concision, as well as allowing for more in depth discussion on each topic." Bonnie Norfolk Doula "This has been such a helpful resource for me as a doula! The course was great, and very reasonably priced compared to many other Hypnobirthing facilitator courses. It was lovely to build a network of other birth workers. The cards give me a structure to my birth preparation sessions, which has saved me so much time planning sessions. I am offering Hypnobirthing to my birth clients as well as a standalone course, and passing the small recurring cost of the package on to my clients. The cards are beautiful and my clients love having something to keep, and remind them of the key information we cover. I would recommend adding this to your tool kit to any Doula! 🌈💕" Thea Anderson IBCLC "Birth Prep In A Box is an incredible resource for families. It provides a wealth of knowledge across antenatal education, birth preparation and planning. It covers Hypnobirthing, through hypnosis and mindfullness education, as well as access to a variety of mp3 tracks to use. I am a doula and IBCLC and have been fortunate enough to train with Sarah, the creator of Birth Prep In A Box, to be able to offer this wonderful package of education and resources to my clients. It is an adaptable and flexible programme and can suit any family, in any situation, through any circumstances." Frequently Asked Questions Q. Is this course suitable for beginners? A. Yes! This course is perfect for anyone starting their journey into birth work as it includes all the training and all the resources you could possibly need. - Equally it is a fantastic addition to any experienced birth workers toolkit. Q. What if I'm not comfortable reading Hypnosis scripts aloud? That is absolutely fine. The beauty is it's flexibility! It is flexible to BOTH the client and the facilitators needs. You can use the pre-recorded MP3's with your clients or ask the partner if they would like to read from the script. We also have a bionic reading version of each of the scripts (great for people with ADHD or struggle to read with an easy flow). Q. Can I spread the cost of the training? A. Yes! There is a bi-weekly 25% of total payment option available to absolutely anyone at booking. And if this isn't suitable for you please just get in touch, I have managed to work with everyone who has asked so far and create a payment plan suitable for them (and their family's) needs. Q. How much money can I earn after the training? A. Well that's entirely up to you and how you choose to offer your services. It also depends on the geographical area. As a basic guide, Hypnobirthing teachers tend to charge somewhere between £200-£400 per client. Q. What are the ongoing costs? A. There are no subscriptions or ongoing membership fees, this really makes us different to the other courses out there. I simply ask that you purchase a 'Client Pack' for each of your clients (£40), this included a full set of 57 cards delivered to them and access to the online materials too - This means that all of your costs are 100% recoverable from your clients, you just build that cost into your client fees. Therefore if you don't have any clients, you don't pay any fees! Q. Do you have an affiliate programme? A. Yes we do. But only for our facilitators. Once you have completed a course you can recommend a friend and receive a big thank you from me in the form of a free client pack (worth £40). Q. Will there be ongoing support after the course? Yes, absolutely. BPIAB is all about community! So not only will you have access to ask me questions at any time but I really really encourage peer support too. We have our own online community groups, away from social media, where you can ask me or your peers any questions at any time. Q. I haven't heard of you before. How long has BPIAB been going? A. Birth Prep In A Box was created back in 2019, both the online materials and the flashcards have been used and loved by many many many families! The facilitator courses started at the beginning of 2023 and have been very successful. Q. What if I want to repeat the course? A. Once you have completed a course you have a lifetime membership with BPIAB. You are very welcome to rejoin any future course for free. Q. Is there flexibility in teaching Hypnobirthing using the BPIAB toolkit? A. Yes YES and Y E S ! ! 😂 This is what this whole toolkit is allllll about. It is based around a set of both flashcards AND online materials, each of which can be used together OR on their own! Q. Are the facilitator course and the parent course inclusive? A. Absolutely. We make every effort to use inclusive language and behaviors as much as possible, but of course we are always learning and we expect you to have the same outlook. Q. Do I need to complete case studies? A. We do not require case studies at BPIAB. Instead we offer ongoing support to help you structure your business your way, and the way that your individual clients need. You do not 'qualify' as such, instead we consider this a preparation tool. Join the mailing list Student Midwife offer - 50% off There are two student midwife places available on each course.
